Welcome to the World Congress of the Econometric Society!

Bocconi University is delighted to host the12th World congress of the Econometric Society.

Bocconi University was established in Milan in 1902 as a private, independent, non-profit institution and is now a research university of international standing in business, economics and law, quickly growing also in computer sciences, applied mathematics, and statistics. The policy of the University is to emphasize high-level research and to follow a strategy of rapid internationalization. Bocconi is becoming increasingly successful in recruiting top researchers with a consistent research agenda and an international perspective, with a large number of scholars who have been awarded ERC and NSF grants. Moreover, by cultivating close relations with firms, agencies, and their management and officials, Bocconi constantly interacts with the business and economic environment to assess new issues, implement new techniques, and start new research endeavours.

The Local Organizing Committee, chaired by Massimiliano Marcellino, looks forward to working with the ES World Congress Scientific Program Committee Chairs, Victor Chernozhukov, Emmanuel Farhi, Johannes Horner and Eliana La Ferrara, and welcoming you all to the Bocconi high‐tech urban campus in Milan.
